When an operation is done for viewing inside the abdomen through a telescope, is called “Laparoscopy”.
When Laparoscope is attached with CCD camera and connected with Monitor – is called as "Video laparoscopy".
When it is done for diagnosis is called “Diagnostic Laparoscopy” and
When it is done for therapeutic purpose it is called as “Operative Laparoscopy".
